Gigabyte’s 2026 gaming laptops integrate AI for performance, portability and simplicity

Gigabyte unveils its 2026 range of gaming laptops featuring GiMATE, an AI agent designed to optimise performance, simplify user controls, and balance portability with high-end gaming capabilities, signalling a shift towards smarter, more adaptable gaming hardware.

GIGABYTE’s 2026 gaming laptop range is built around a simple idea: buyers should not have to choose between raw performance, portability and AI-assisted controls. The company’s current pitch centres on GiMATE, its proprietary AI agent, which combines natural-language control, voice commands through a “Press and Speak” function and automated tuning for power, cooling, audio and privacy. GIGABYTE says the system is designed to simplify everyday use, while keeping sensitive image generation local rather than sending files to the cloud.

At the top of the range is the AORUS MASTER 16 GEN 2, aimed at serious gamers and users who want near-desktop performance in a portable chassis. GIGABYTE lists configurations up to an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, alongside a 16-inch OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and fast response times. The company positions it as the best option for players who want the highest frame rates, but third-party testing has suggested that this class of machine can bring trade-offs, including louder fans and modest battery life.

For buyers who want a machine that can handle work, study and gaming in one device, the AERO X16 Copilot+ PC is the more balanced choice. GIGABYTE says it uses AMD Ryzen AI 400 series processors, up to an RTX 5070 Laptop GPU and a slim 16.75mm chassis, with more than 14 hours of battery life. That makes it the most practical option for people who travel often or split time between productivity tasks and games, especially if they value portability over maximum graphics power.

The GAMING A16 PRO sits between those two extremes. GIGABYTE equips it with an Intel Core 7 Processor 240H and up to an RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, which should make it attractive to players who want stronger graphics performance without stepping up to the premium AORUS tier. It keeps the company’s cooling system and a 19.45mm body, so it is still relatively slim for a performance-focused laptop. That makes it a sensible middle ground for buyers who play demanding games but also need a machine for streaming, editing or coursework.

The most accessible model is the GAMING A16, which GIGABYTE is clearly aiming at mainstream buyers and first-time gaming laptop owners. It uses an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, up to an RTX 5070 Laptop GPU and a 76Wh battery, with GIGABYTE claiming more than 12 hours of endurance. Paired with GiMATE, it is meant to offer simple tuning and dependable gaming performance without the price and power demands of the flagship models. At CES 2026, GIGABYTE also highlighted a redesigned GiMATE interface and updated power-management modes, underlining that its 2026 strategy is as much about software control as it is about hardware.
