Gigabyte launches the Gaming A16, a 16-inch gaming laptop blending slim design and top-tier performance, featuring a 115W RTX 50 series GPU and advanced cooling for gamers and creators on the move.
GIGABYTE has added a new 16-inch gaming laptop to its range with a clear emphasis on portability as well as raw performance. The GAMING A16 combines Intel’s Core Ultra 9 185H processor with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series laptop graphics, with the company saying the GPU can run at up to 115W. At 19.45mm thick and 2.2kg, it is pitched at users who want a relatively slim machine without moving away from a high-end gaming specification. GIGABYTE says the model is already on sale, although configuration and availability will vary by market.
The display is one of its more practical selling points. According to GIGABYTE, the panel is a 16-inch WQXGA screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 165Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. Peak brightness is listed at 500 nits, with sRGB colour coverage intended to keep images consistent in bright environments. The company is also leaning on NVIDIA Blackwell graphics architecture, together with DLSS 4.5 and Reflex, to improve frame delivery and reduce latency in demanding games.
Thermal management appears to be central to the design. GIGABYTE says the WINDFORCE INFINITY EX system uses two 134-blade fans and a four-channel air path, while its Icy Touch approach is meant to keep the chassis cooler to the touch during long sessions. The laptop also includes GiMATE, a local AI assistant that does not rely on cloud processing, with Creator and Coder modes aimed at image generation and programming support. That broadens the machine’s appeal beyond gaming, particularly for users looking for a single device for play and productivity.
Other features follow the same balance between utility and mobility. The 76Wh battery is rated for up to 14 hours, the hinge opens to 180 degrees, and the Golden Curve keyboard has 1.7mm key travel. GIGABYTE also lists Dolby Atmos audio and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. In practice, that places the GAMING A16 in a crowded but important category: thin-and-light gaming notebooks that try to avoid the usual trade-off between portability and sustained graphics performance. PC Gamer’s review of an earlier Gaming A16 configuration noted that a lower graphics power limit can materially affect gaming results, which makes the new 115W figure a key detail for buyers comparing models.
