Google is set to unveil its Pixel 11 family at the Made by Google event in New York, introducing major upgrades, higher prices, and an expanded flagship lineup, including a foldable model and new Pixel Watch 5.
Google is due to lift the covers on its Pixel 11 family at the Made by Google event in New York on August 12, with a livestream scheduled for 3:30 a.m. IST on August 13. The launch is expected to include four phones: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, alongside the Pixel Watch 5 and Google’s first Bluetooth tracker, said to be called Pixel Tag.
Pricing is likely to rise. Google’s vice president of devices and services, Shakil Barkat, told 9to5Google that the Pixel line will see “adjustments”, while reports from Android Central suggest the base model may start at $899 with 256GB of storage. That would mark a change from earlier entry-level configurations, as Google is also expected to drop the 128GB tier across the range. Tech sites have linked the move to higher memory and storage costs.
The standard Pixel 11 is said to keep a 6.3-inch display, use Google’s Tensor G6 chip and run Android 17. Leaks and reports point to a triple rear camera system with a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto unit. The phone is also expected to carry a 5,000mAh battery with 30W wired charging and come in colours including Midnight Haze, Light Sterling, Fuchsia and Moss.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are expected to share much of that hardware, but with brighter displays and more advanced camera systems. Reports say the Pro models will use a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, while the Pro XL adds a larger 6.8-inch panel and a 5,115mAh battery with 45W charging. The foldable Pro Fold is tipped to feature an 8-inch inner screen, a 6.4-inch outer display, a triple-camera array and dual 10-megapixel selfie cameras.
Leaks have also suggested that Google is trying to sharpen the line between the more restrained Pro finishes and the brighter colours on the standard models. TechRadar reported that an Amazon listing briefly exposed the full range, fuelling debate over whether Google has become too conservative with its premium devices. Even so, the bigger story may be Google’s decision to push the whole family upmarket with larger base storage and higher prices just as rivals continue to pack more memory into flagship phones.
