Google has unveiled the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, featuring a slimmer, lighter build, enhanced durability, brighter displays, and upgraded performance, setting a new benchmark for foldable devices.
Google has unveiled the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, positioning it as a thinner, lighter and more durable successor to its previous foldable. According to Thanh Nien, the new device is under 1 mm slimmer and almost 10% lighter than the model it replaces, while Google says a redesigned hinge and composite rear panel have helped triple durability. The handset also carries an IP68 rating for resistance to dust and water and is promised seven years of software updates.
The display hardware is another major focus. Thanh Nien reported that Google has brought its Super Actua panel technology to the 6.5-inch outer screen, raising brightness by 20%, while the 8-inch inner folding display gets the same boost. That continues a broader pattern seen in the Pixel foldable line, where Google has increasingly used brighter panels and tighter bezels to make the device feel less compromised than earlier foldables.
Performance also appears to have been upgraded. Google has paired the phone with its Tensor G6 chip and 16GB of RAM, with the company claiming a 50% increase in TPU compute, a figure that points to faster on-device AI processing. Battery life is said to exceed 24 hours, and the new Pixelsnap magnetic charging system brings the device closer to the Qi2-style accessory ecosystem that Google introduced on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
Camera and software features remain central to Google’s pitch. The main rear camera is a 48MP sensor that Google says captures 56% more light than before, alongside 30x Super Zoom, Rear Camera Selfie mode and Dual Screen Preview for framing subjects more accurately. On the software side, Gemini Intelligence is meant to handle more routine tasks in the background, while US users can ask Gemini to place calls and transcribe conversations. Google has also added sign language translation to text through Pixel Camera, and buyers receive six months of Google AI Pro, a package Google values at $119.94 and says includes 5TB of cloud storage and Google Health Premium.
