Honor introduces the X9e Pro in Malaysia, featuring an unprecedented 11,000mAh battery designed for extended use without added bulk, signalling a new competitive edge in mid-range smartphones.
HONOR has widened the race for larger smartphone batteries with the launch of the X9e Pro in Malaysia, a mid-range handset that pairs an 11,000mAh silicon-carbon cell with a body that remains relatively slim at 8.08mm. The company says the device is built to last through extended use, while also trying to avoid the bulk usually associated with such a large battery.
The headline feature is the battery itself. HONOR says the X9e Pro supports 80W wired charging and 27W reverse charging, and claims the phone can play video for up to 66.8 hours. That places the device firmly among a growing class of phones that are using higher-density battery chemistry to deliver endurance without an extreme increase in size or weight.
The rest of the specification sheet is pitched to match that ambition. According to HONOR’s Malaysian product page, the X9e Pro uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. The phone has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2788 x 1280 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness rating of 10,000 nits. Its camera set-up comprises a 108-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 5-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 16-megapixel front camera.
Durability is another major part of the pitch. HONOR says the phone carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for protection against dust and water, while reports from Gizmochina and other outlets said the device is also built to withstand drops from up to 3 metres. The handset is offered in Royal Purple, Midnight Black, Dawn Gold and Reddish Brown.
In Malaysia, the X9e Pro is available for pre-order at prices starting from RM1,899, which is roughly Rp8.3 million for the 8GB/256GB model. The launch underlines how battery capacity is becoming a sharper point of competition in smartphones, especially in the mid-range segment, where buyers increasingly expect longer life without a dramatic trade-off in thickness or portability.
