Huawei has introduced its slim and premium MatePad Air PaperMatte Edition in Singapore, highlighted by a 12-inch OLED display, innovative design, and tailored features for students, creators, and mobile professionals seeking portability and productivity.
Huawei has brought the MatePad Air to Singapore, positioning the tablet as a slim device for students, creators and mobile professionals who need a balance of portability and productivity. The launch centres on the company’s “Fresh Air, Your Spark” theme and comes as Huawei continues to push a lighter, more premium tablet line-up.
The MatePad Air PaperMatte Edition is the main variant being highlighted for its 12-inch OLED display, which offers 2.8K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits. Huawei says the PaperMatte treatment is intended to cut glare and reflections while preserving a textured surface that feels closer to paper, making it more suitable for reading, writing and sketching.
Huawei’s design changes are also central to the device. The company says the tablet uses a simplified internal structure built around an inverted OLED layout without an internal support bracket, helping it achieve a thin and light profile. Other reports on the global model say it measures 5.3mm thick and weighs 509g, with a metal finish and an Airy Blue colour option.
Beyond the display, Huawei is pairing the tablet with its own software and accessories. HUAWEI Notes is aimed at note-taking, GoPaint at digital drawing and WPS Office at document work, presentations and PDFs. The MatePad Air can also be used with the M-Pencil Pro and Smart Magnetic Keyboard, while Huawei says a 3D heat-dissipation system is designed to support heavier multitasking and creative workloads.
Audio and battery specifications are also strong for a tablet this thin. Huawei says the device includes six speakers with a quad-driver bass unit, a 10,100mAh battery and support for 66W SuperCharge Turbo, with charging to 42% in 30 minutes. In Singapore, the tablet is priced at S$1,198, with pre-orders running from 2 to 8 September 2026 and an instant S$100 discount during that window. From 9 September, it will also be sold through Challenger and Metapod, while early buyers receive gifts valued at S$774, including the M-Pencil Pro, Smart Keyboard and a one-year APAC warranty.
