Huawei re-enters India’s tablet scene with two new models aimed at students and professionals, emphasising battery life, pen input, and eye comfort, but faces challenges with app compatibility.
Huawei has returned to India’s tablet market with two models now listed on Flipkart: the MatePad SE 11 and the MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition. Both are being pitched at students, office users and people who want a large-screen device for everyday tasks, with the emphasis on battery life, note-taking and basic productivity rather than high-end entertainment.
According to Flipkart, the MatePad SE 11 is priced at ₹25,999 and comes with an 11-inch Full-HD+ display, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The tablet uses Huawei’s Kirin 710A chip, supports the Huawei M-Pen Lite stylus and includes four speakers with Huawei Histen 9.0 audio. It also carries TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free viewing, which are designed to reduce eye strain during long use.
The more expensive MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte Edition is listed at ₹45,999 and includes a keyboard accessory. As described on Flipkart and in related product listings, it has an 11.5-inch 2.5K PaperMatte display with a 120Hz refresh rate, anti-reflection treatment and nano-level etching meant to reduce glare. The tablet is powered by the Kirin T82B chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and it carries a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera and support for 1080p video recording.
Huawei also appears to be using the larger model as a stronger productivity device. The updated Huawei Notes app is built for annotating documents and handwriting, while the 10,100mAh battery supports 40W SuperCharge fast charging. For buyers, the main trade-off remains software compatibility. Reviews of Huawei’s recent tablets have noted that HarmonyOS devices can be strong on display quality, battery life and pen input, but they still lack native Google and Meta apps, which may matter for users who depend on mainstream Western software.
