Huawei is set to unveil the new Watch D3 with blood pressure monitoring in September, signalling a continued focus on health-focused smartwatches despite the mainstream market’s trend towards general fitness devices.
Huawei is preparing a new smartwatch with blood pressure measurement, according to certification listings in Indonesia that point to a model called the Watch D3. The filings mention two variants, RIV-B10 and RIV-B11, although the regulator does not identify any difference between them. The timing suggests Huawei is moving to replace the Watch D2, which is now the company’s older blood-pressure-focused wearable.
That matters because the Watch D line remains unusual in the mainstream smartwatch market. Huawei said when it launched the original Watch D in 2022 that the device used a mini pump built into the strap to take wrist-based blood pressure readings without separate equipment. Notebookcheck noted that the Watch D also received Class II medical device certification for blood pressure and ECG measurement, underlining that Huawei has positioned the product as a health device rather than a standard fitness watch.
The reported Watch D3 arrives as Huawei prepares a global launch event in Munich on 2 September, branded “Chase the Wild”. While the teaser imagery appears to point mainly to the Watch GT 7 and Watch GT 7 Pro, the certification trail suggests that Huawei may have other high-end wearables nearing launch as well. Notebookcheck says a September unveiling of the Watch D3 is now expected, which would extend a niche but technically significant part of Huawei’s smartwatch line-up.
