Huawei set to unveil the Watch GT 7 at its Munich event, introducing new outdoor sports and health tracking features, alongside tablets and audio devices focused on sport, health, creativity and exploration.
Huawei is set to unveil a new wave of products in Munich on 2 September, with the Watch GT 7 positioned as the main attraction at its HUAWEI Innovative Product Launch. The company says the event will also cover tablets and audio devices, all framed around sport, health, creativity and exploration.
According to Huawei, the Watch GT 7 series is its latest flagship sports smartwatch and is designed to improve four areas: styling, outdoor performance, health tracking and battery life. The company also says the range will add winter sports modes, using a multi-sensor system that can identify skiing or snowboarding automatically even when GPS is unavailable.
Huawei is also highlighting outdoor mapping tools for alpine use, including access to maps covering more than 3,000 ski resorts worldwide. Another new feature the company claims for the Watch GT 7 is Turn Detection, which counts short and medium-length turns by measuring curvature radius. For cycling, Huawei says the watch will add climb planning, ascent data sharing and dangerous-corner alerts.
The launch timing now appears more certain after earlier reports from Huawei-focused outlets suggested the Watch GT 7 would arrive in late summer, with some also pointing to a September release window and possible NearLink connectivity upgrades. Notebookcheck also reported leaked promotional images showing the Watch GT 7 and Watch GT 7 Pro in multiple colour options, suggesting a familiar design language for the series.
