The Insta360 X6 launches in the Philippines with dual Sony sensors, 8K recording, advanced AI editing tools, and improved battery performance, marking a notable evolution from the X5 model.
Insta360 has launched the X6 in the Philippines, positioning it as a more capable successor to the X5 with stronger imaging hardware, faster capture modes and a more streamlined editing workflow. The new model is built around dual 1/1.1-inch Sony sensors, which should improve overall image quality, particularly in lower light, and raise the ceiling for action footage with 8K recording at up to 50 frames per second. Leaks ahead of launch had already pointed to those sensor changes, along with a claimed 120-megapixel 360-degree photo mode, and the Philippine launch material now broadly confirms that direction.
The camera also adds a more advanced colour pipeline. Insta360 is fitting 10-bit I-Log support, a feature aimed at creators who want more latitude in colour grading after shooting. The company is also pushing what it calls PanoMind, an AI system designed to process 360-degree footage more intelligently than a standard flat-video editor. According to the launch details, one mode can generate highlight clips while the camera charges, while another can automate reframing, cuts, music selection and camera movement across a timeline, reducing the manual work usually associated with 360 editing.
Battery life and heat management have also been improved. The X6 uses a 2,600mAh Xtreme Battery and is rated for up to 140 minutes of 8K30 recording, which matches the figures that surfaced in earlier retail-box leaks. Insta360 says a new Star-Ridge cooling system helps the camera sustain long 8K shoots in warmer conditions. The device also includes built-in storage, with a 64GB package label translating to 47GB of usable space, although users will still need a microSD card for more practical day-to-day use.
In the Philippines, the X6 went on sale on August 12, 2026 through authorised retailers, TikTok Shop, Shopee and Lazada. The Standard Bundle is priced at ₱45,390 and includes the camera, a USB-C cable, a protective pouch and a lens cloth. The Essentials Bundle costs ₱49,990 and adds an extra 2,600mAh battery, a 114cm Invisible Selfie Stick, a lens cap and a fast-charge case. For buyers who already know the 360 camera workflow, the question is less about whether the X6 is an upgrade and more about whether the new sensors, AI tools and battery life are enough to justify moving on from the X5.
