iQOO launches the Z11 in India, emphasising new AI tools for writing, transcription, and translation, with unlimited usage and extended software support, positioning it as a versatile device for students and professionals.
iQOO is set to bring the Z11 to India on 20 August, with the company making artificial intelligence a central part of the pitch rather than a minor extra. The phone is being positioned in the sub-₹40,000 category, and iQOO says its software package combines writing assistance, transcription, translation and summarisation tools with a longer support promise than the Z series has offered before.
The most visible additions are AI Creation, AI Captions and AI Transcript Assist. According to iQOO, AI Creation lives inside Notes and DocMaster and can continue drafts, rewrite text, change tone, shorten or expand passages, and generate templates such as articles, brainstorming outlines and work summaries. AI Transcript Assist, built into the Recorder app, turns longer voice recordings into text and summaries, while AI Captions handles live transcription and translation for calls, videos and meetings.
In testing, the tools appear most useful when treated as a first-pass assistant rather than a final editor. Writing features can clean up rough notes, convert informal messages into a more formal register and turn scattered ideas into something structured, although the output can still sound generic and may need manual revision. iQOO also says the AI features require an internet connection and a company account, so they will not work offline.
For speech-heavy tasks, the phone is aiming at students, office users and anyone who works with recordings. iQOO says AI Captions uses a multi-engine system that combines Google Gemini and Microsoft Azure to improve context and preserve pauses, rhythm and emphasis. The company also claims the Z11 does not impose a credit system or usage cap on AI Creation and AI Captions, unlike what it says is a common industry limit of 120 to 300 minutes. That is a notable claim, because it would make the features more practical for routine use across classes, meetings and travel planning.
The wider hardware package also looks competitive. iQOO says the Z11 will be the first phone in India with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500 Turbo, alongside a 6.83-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 2,000 nits of HBM brightness. The battery is rated at 7,050mAh, and the software promise is equally important: three years of Android upgrades and five years of security patches, which iQOO says is a first for the Z series. The company is expected to confirm the remaining camera, memory and storage details at launch, while iQOO Buds are also due to arrive on the same day.
