iQOO’s compact Pad Pro packs flagship gaming power into an 8.8-inch tablet

The iQOO Pad Pro 8.8 combines a 165Hz OLED display, active cooling and a 9,020mAh battery, with prices starting at 4,299 yuan in China.

iQOO has added a new compact tablet to its China line-up, unveiling the Pad Pro 8.8 as a gaming-focused device built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform. The model is on sale in China from 4,299 yuan for the base 8GB + 256GB configuration, with the most expensive version priced at 5,799 yuan. Reports from Gadgets 360 and Beebom note that iQOO is positioning the device as a smaller alternative to larger Android tablets aimed at performance users.

The tablet’s headline specification is its 8.8-inch OLED display, which offers a 2.3K-class resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10+ content. iQOO claims a peak local brightness of up to 4,500 nits, alongside wide colour-gamut coverage and factory calibration. The company has also added eye-comfort features, including low blue light handling and adaptive brightness tuning, reflecting a broader trend among premium tablets towards high refresh rates without sacrificing readability or visual comfort.

Performance hardware is another central focus. Alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the Pad Pro includes iQOO’s Q3 gaming chip and software features intended to raise frame rates and image quality in supported games, including 2K super-resolution, ray tracing and frame interpolation. iQOO also says the device uses a built-in cooling fan with a larger thermal system to help sustain performance during prolonged gaming or other intensive workloads.

Battery life is backed by a 9,020mAh cell with 66W charging support. iQOO says the tablet also supports bypass charging to reduce heat while gaming. Other listed specifications include Android 17 with OriginOS 7 HD, a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and a USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 port. At 298 grams, the Pad Pro is notably light for a performance-oriented tablet, but iQOO has not yet announced any India launch plans.
