itell launches the Power 80 in Kenya, a rugged 4G smartphone featuring military-grade certifications, IP68/69 protection, and a massive 7,000mAh battery, targeting users seeking a durable daily device without supplementary cases.
itel has launched the POWER 80 in Kenya, positioning the handset as a rugged 4G device designed to withstand everyday knocks without relying on an added protective case. The phone is now on sale at official retail outlets nationwide, with a recommended price of Ksh 19,499, although final pricing may vary by seller. The launch comes as the company pushes a simple message: durability should be built into the phone itself, not bought later as an accessory.
The device’s main selling point is its certification package. According to itel’s product information, the POWER 80 carries SGS 5-Star Gold Drop-Proof approval, MIL-STD-810 military-grade compliance, and IP68 and IP69 protection against dust and water. That combination is unusual in this price class and is meant to give the handset a stronger claim to real-world toughness than many rivals that depend on aftermarket cases and screen guards.
itel says the physical design is equally important. The phone uses a shock-absorption cage frame, reinforced corners, a composite rear panel and sealed seams around ports and speakers. The aim is to spread impact away from the display and internal components, while reducing the chance of damage from drops, dust or moisture. Independent listings for the model also describe it as a large-screen device with a 6.78-inch display, a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 7,000mAh battery.
Beyond durability, the POWER 80 is aimed at users who want a straightforward daily driver with long battery life. itel lists an Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM expandable to 16GB, 128GB of storage and Android 16. The company is offering the phone in Meteor Black, Titanium Silver and Solar Orange, and says buyers can find it through itel stores, Phone Place outlets, Jumia Kenya and authorised retailers across the country.
