Lenovo brings LOQ Essential 15IRH11 to North America with 165Hz display

Lenovo has expanded sales of its budget-focused LOQ Essential 15IRH11 in the US and Canada, pairing a 165Hz 1200p screen with an RTX 3050 and Core 7 230H.

Lenovo has widened North American availability of the LOQ Essential 15IRH11, a budget-oriented 15-inch gaming notebook aimed at buyers who want a high-refresh display without moving into the company’s more expensive LOQ tiers. The model is now listed in the US and Canada, adding to its earlier launch markets, and Lenovo continues to position it as an entry-level machine for gaming and everyday workloads. According to Notebookcheck, the notebook is intended to undercut stronger LOQ configurations while keeping a familiar gaming-laptop feature set.

The system is built around Intel’s Core 7 230H, a ten-core chip with six Performance cores and four Efficient cores. Notebookcheck said the machine ships with a GeForce RTX 3050 laptop GPU rated at 75W with 15W Dynamic Boost, although Lenovo’s own specification pages show some configuration differences across regional listings, including an RTX 3050 with 6GB of GDDR6 memory on certain models. That matters because graphics memory can affect newer games and texture-heavy workloads, even when the GPU name is the same.

Elsewhere, the LOQ Essential 15IRH11 follows the formula common to affordable gaming notebooks. Lenovo pairs the processor and graphics hardware with 16GB of DDR5-5200 memory, a 512GB M.2 2242 SSD and a 60Wh battery. The 15.6-inch panel uses a 1200p IPS design with a 165Hz refresh rate, 300 nits of peak brightness, 100% sRGB coverage and an anti-glare finish. Lenovo also says the memory is user-upgradeable and that the notebook supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 on some configurations.

Pricing places the laptop firmly in the mid-range of the budget gaming segment rather than the entry-level end. Notebookcheck reported a Canadian price of CAD 1,910.99 and a US price of $1,476.99, while also noting that the LOQ Essential 15IRH11 may be less capable than the cheaper LOQ Essential 15IRX11 in some scenarios. The result is a model that looks attractive on paper for its display and general specification, but whose real value will depend on how Lenovo’s different regional configurations and GPU options are priced in practice.
