Lenovo plans to release the colourful IdeaPad Vibe, a flexible Windows alternative to Apple’s MacBook Neo, featuring a wide range of configurations, colours, and targeted at price-conscious consumers, challenging the dominance of Apple’s lightweight laptops.
Lenovo is preparing a colourful Windows laptop that looks set to target Apple’s MacBook Neo, with leaked specifications showing a far broader range of choices than Apple typically offers. According to Windows Latest, the IdeaPad Vibe will come in 14-inch and 15-inch forms, with seven colour finishes, AMD Ryzen AI processors, and a port selection that includes USB-A, USB-C, HDMI and a microSD card reader. TechRadar said the design also appears intended as a more flexible alternative to Apple’s tightly controlled low-cost MacBook line-up. Windows Latest and TechRadar both report that Lenovo is also planning Snapdragon variants.
The AMD models are said to use Ryzen AI 400-series chips, including the Ryzen AI 7 445, Ryzen AI 5 435 and Ryzen AI 5 430, alongside Ryzen AI 300-series options. Windows Latest reported that both families are rated at up to 30W and that Lenovo has mapped out several memory, storage, display and battery combinations. The sheet it uncovered points to 8GB, 16GB, 24GB and 32GB LPDDR5X memory, up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 storage, and battery options of 50Wh or 65Wh.
Lenovo’s specification list also suggests a fairly wide spread of screens. Windows Latest says the 14-inch model can be ordered with IPS or OLED panels, while the 15-inch version adds a 120Hz touch option and a 15.2-inch 2.1K OLED choice. The higher-end panels are listed with 100% DCI-P3 coverage and True Black certification, while the base IPS display is a more modest 60Hz, 45% NTSC unit. The company also appears to be using a 5MP RGB camera with a privacy shutter, plus an FHD IR camera, on all variants.
For buyers, the clearest message is that Lenovo is trading some specification compromises for configuration breadth. Windows Latest noted that the starting 8GB single-channel memory option, optional keyboard backlight, Wi-Fi 6, and some QLC storage choices all point to a price-conscious design. Tom’s Guide and Creative Bloq have both shown that Apple’s MacBook Neo remains strong on build quality, display quality and ecosystem integration at $599, which means Lenovo will need aggressive pricing to compete. Windows Central has already shown Lenovo can hit that bracket with the IdeaPad Slim 3X, but the Vibe’s final price remains the key unknown.
