Motorola enhances its premium foldable range with the launch of the Razr Fold in Vietnam, featuring a 8.1-inch display, advanced camera system, extensive software support, and multiple AI assistants, setting a new benchmark for foldable innovation.
Motorola has brought its Razr Fold to Vietnam, widening its foldable range with a book-style handset aimed squarely at the premium end of the market. The launch adds a more productivity-focused device alongside the company’s flip-style Razr line, and it arrives with specifications that place emphasis on large displays, battery endurance and long software support.
The Razr Fold uses an 8.1-inch LTPO inner display and a 6.6-inch cover screen, with the chassis measuring 4.6mm when open and 9.9mm when closed. Motorola has paired the device with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in the Vietnamese version, while international launch reports said the model can also be configured with up to 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage. The phone is also rated for up to seven Android version upgrades and seven years of security updates, a commitment that matches the more durable support policies now becoming common among top-tier foldables.
Camera hardware is another key selling point. Motorola says the Razr Fold carries a 50-megapixel main camera using Sony’s LYTIA 828 sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto unit with 3x optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 122-degree field of view. There are also 32-megapixel and 20-megapixel cameras for selfies, video calls and use in both folded and open positions. DXOMARK has given the device Gold Label status for imaging, with a score that places it among the stronger cameras currently found on foldable smartphones.
Artificial intelligence is built into the phone in a more literal sense than on most rivals. Motorola includes its own Moto AI tools, such as Catch Me Up and Pay Attention, and also offers access to Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity AI on the same device. That gives users four assistants to choose from, a notable approach in a market where most manufacturers still tie their foldables to a single ecosystem.
Battery capacity is equally ambitious. The Razr Fold uses a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon cell, with support for 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Motorola says 12 minutes on the charger can deliver the equivalent of about 12 hours of use, depending on conditions. In Vietnam, the phone goes on sale at 49.99 million dong, putting it firmly in flagship territory and positioning it as one of the company’s most expensive and technically ambitious foldables yet.
