MSI’s new Vector 16 HX AI laptop enters the market equipped with top-tier components, targeting demanding gaming and creative tasks, supported by cutting-edge processors, graphics, and connectivity features.
MSI’s Vector 16 HX AI has appeared in retail with hardware aimed squarely at demanding gaming and creative workloads. The configuration listed by Galaxus includes Intel’s Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5080 with 16GB of GDDR7 memory, 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD, with the price set at €2,705.99. Notebookcheck says a closely related model previously earned a “Good (84%)” rating in its testing, suggesting the series has already established a strong performance record.
The processor uses an 8P-plus-16E core layout for a total of 24 threads, while the graphics chip is specified with 8,192 shaders and a 175W total graphics power figure. In practical terms, that places the machine in the high-performance segment for gaming, streaming, rendering and editing. The memory is installed as two 16GB modules in dual-channel mode, and the system can be expanded further if required.
Storage and connectivity are also generous. The laptop has two SSD slots in the common 2280 format, with one PCIe 5 and one PCIe 4 bay, so a second drive can be added later. MSI also equips the model with two Thunderbolt 5 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, 2.5G Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7 and support for power delivery through USB-C, up to 140W.
The display is a 16-inch matte IPS panel with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 240Hz refresh rate. Notebookcheck says the panel covers the DCI-P3 colour space well and offers decent brightness and contrast, although the contrast is not exceptional for the price. That assessment broadly matches other reviews of the Vector 16 HX AI family: PC Gamer praised the performance but criticised fan noise, bulk and battery life, while Creative Bloq pointed to the plastic base as a weakness for a machine at this level. Notebookcheck’s own review of the series also described it as a strong contender, with good endurance and a sensible port selection.
