Natural Cycles introduces the NC° Band, a dedicated sleep-oriented wrist device that automates temperature measurements to enhance fertility monitoring, promising improved consistency and ease of use.
Natural Cycles has added a dedicated wrist wearable designed to automate one of the more fiddly parts of fertility tracking: taking a temperature reading before getting out of bed. The NC° Band measures overnight body temperature and syncs the data to the company’s app each morning, where Natural Cycles’ algorithm does the actual fertility analysis. The device is priced at $129.99 on its own, though it is included with an annual Natural Cycles plan.
The company says the band is built for sleep rather than general fitness tracking. It has no display and no notification system, and it is meant to be worn on the non-dominant wrist overnight. Natural Cycles also says the device records body temperature, heart rate and motion while the user sleeps, then transfers that information to the app automatically. That makes it different from a smartwatch with fertility features added later, or from the more manual routine of using a basal thermometer each morning.
Natural Cycles argues that collecting temperature data during sleep can improve consistency, since daytime readings can be affected by movement, food, alcohol, illness, stress and ambient conditions. Its own help pages note that users do not need a valid reading every night, although missing data can lead to more conservative fertility classifications. The company recommends logging at least five temperatures a week for the best experience. Natural Cycles also says its method is 93% effective with typical use and 98% effective with perfect use.
The NC° Band is one of several devices that work with the service, alongside the Oura Ring and compatible Apple Watch and Garmin wearables, but Natural Cycles presents it as the most tightly integrated option for people who want a purpose-built sensor. The band is rated for up to 14 days of battery life, charges over USB-C in about 2.5 hours and is not waterproof. Natural Cycles says the product is available in the US, UK, Europe, Canada and Australia, and that it can be bought through a new annual subscription or directly from the company’s shop. The service is also FSA and HSA eligible, though coverage depends on individual plans.
