Nvidia’s upcoming Arm-based RTX Spark platform is showing promising Geekbench performance, positioning it as a potential serious contender in Windows gaming and portable computing markets, with devices expected this autumn.
Nvidia’s push into Arm-based Windows gaming hardware is moving closer to reality, after Geekbench listings offered the clearest public indication yet of how its RTX Spark platform may perform. The results, first spotted by PCGamesN and echoed by Tom’s Hardware, point to a 20-core version of the chip and a trimmed 18-core variant, with the larger model delivering scores that place it in striking distance of some high-end desktop and mobile processors.
In the Geekbench tests, the 20-core RTX Spark N1X posted single-core results of roughly 2,570 to 2,593 and multi-core results of about 23,126 to 23,424, depending on the listing reported. Tom’s Hardware said that puts the chip ahead of most x86 rivals in multi-core work, while still leaving room for stronger single-core results from Apple’s M4 Pro and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite. Even so, the early numbers suggest Nvidia could be building a serious Arm challenger for Windows PCs if the final silicon and drivers scale as expected.
Ars Technica reported in June that RTX Spark is an Arm-based system-on-chip built around a 20-core Grace CPU co-developed with MediaTek and a Blackwell-class GPU with up to 6,144 cores, alongside support for up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5x memory. Nvidia is targeting laptops and compact desktop PCs, with partners including Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, MSI, Acer and Gigabyte. The company has said the devices are due this autumn and will run Windows 11.
That broader ambition matters because Nvidia is not only aiming at portable performance, but also at compatibility. PCGamesN reported that the company is working to ensure support for common anti-cheat and digital rights management software so Windows games can run normally on Arm hardware. The GPU side remains untested in public benchmarks, but Nvidia has already confirmed DLSS 4.5 support, which could be significant for gaming performance and battery efficiency alike.
