OPPO has launched its new A7 Pro 5G and A7 Pro Max 5G smartphones in Malaysia, emphasising battery life, large AMOLED screens, and improved durability, with pre-orders available until late 2026.
OPPO has expanded its Malaysian line-up with the A7 Pro 5G and A7 Pro Max 5G, two mid-range phones built around battery life, large AMOLED displays and stronger durability claims. The series is available immediately through OPPO Malaysia’s official channels and authorised retailers, including Shopee, while the brand’s Lazada store had not yet listed the devices at the time of launch. According to the company’s announcement, a first-sale offer will run until 31 October 2026, subject to stock. The launch follows a growing trend in the A-series towards bigger batteries and more practical design rather than headline camera or performance upgrades.
At the top of the range sits the A7 Pro Max 5G, which OPPO says uses a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The device’s defining specification is its 10,000mAh battery, built with OPPO’s Glacier Battery technology and silicon-carbon sphere composition, and supported by 80W SuperVOOC charging as well as 27W reverse charging.
The camera package is also positioned as a key differentiator. Bernama reported that both phones carry a 50-megapixel Ultra-Wide AI Zoom Selfie Camera with a 100-degree field of view. On the A7 Pro Max 5G, the rear system adds optical image stabilisation, AI Night Mode and image optimisation to a 50-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. OPPO also includes a rear notification light on the module, a small design detail aimed at making alerts more visible.
The standard A7 Pro 5G is more modest but still unusually large for its class. It uses a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 MAX chipset, with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Its 8,000mAh battery supports 45W charging, while the rear camera setup combines a 50-megapixel main sensor with a 2-megapixel monochrome unit. Malaysian pricing starts at RM1,699 for the A7 Pro 5G and RM2,499 for the A7 Pro Max 5G, with colour options varying by model.
