OPPO has launched its Reno16 Series 5G in the Philippines, emphasizing software-driven content creation and new camera capabilities, with pre-orders open until August 20.
OPPO has launched the Reno16 Series 5G in the Philippines, positioning the range as a pocket-sized studio for users who create and share content on the move. The company says the line is designed for everyday photography, short-form video and quick editing, with the launch tied to a cafe campaign built around first barkada moments, a local term for close friends. According to the announcement, pre-orders are open nationwide until August 20, with sales through OPPO stores, e-commerce platforms and telco partners.
The range consists of three models: the Reno16 Pro 5G, Reno16 5G and Reno16 F 5G. The Pro model leads with a 200MP main camera, alongside 50MP ultra-wide, 50MP telephoto portrait and 50MP selfie cameras, plus 4K 60fps recording front and rear. OPPO says the standard Reno16 5G carries a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide, 50MP telephoto portrait and 50MP selfie camera, while the Reno16 F 5G uses a 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto portrait, 8MP ultra-wide and 50MP front camera. Independent specifications published by GadgetMatch and NotebookCheck also indicate that the Reno16 family uses a 6.32-inch AMOLED panel on the standard model, with Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 power for the Reno16 5G and 80W wired charging.
Beyond the camera hardware, OPPO is leaning heavily on software. The Reno16 Series includes AI Remix Collage and Motion Photo Popout 2.0, which the company says simplify editing and add layered visual effects. It also promotes POP Cam, a feature inside the camera app that applies retro-inspired looks without separate editing apps. OPPO says the phones run ColorOS 16, with tools such as AI Mind Space, Study Assistant, O+ Connect with iOS Bridge and Nano Second Smooth aimed at productivity as well as media creation.
A more unusual feature is OPPO Bubble with Camera Remote View, which lets compatible devices preview the camera frame remotely and trigger photos or videos from as far as 10 metres away. OPPO says the system supports zoom control from 0.6x to 3.5x and a timer of up to 10 seconds, making group shots and dance clips easier to capture without leaving anyone out. To promote the launch, OPPO Café Club will run from August 7 to 21 at selected cafes, where buyers of the First Barkada Blend drink can use a Pocket Studio corner, transfer photos by QR code or O+ Connect and enter prize draws for a Reno16 Series handset or an OPPO cafe kit.
Pricing in the Philippines starts at ₱44,999 for the Reno16 F 5G with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, rising to ₱49,999 for the 8GB/256GB version. The Reno16 5G is priced at ₱59,999 for the 12GB/256GB model, while the Reno16 Pro 5G is listed at ₱74,999 for 12GB/256GB. OPPO says launch-period bundles include accessories, vouchers and screen-and-water protection, although the exact freebies vary by channel and are subject to stock.
