OPPO’s Find X9 Ultra is being presented as a rare kind of smartphone: one built around telephoto photography rather than treated as an afterthought. In a review for ASCII, the device was described as the mobile equivalent of a long-lens specialist, with a camera setup that reaches from a standard wide view to a 230mm equivalent telephoto straight out of the box. That gives it an unusually broad optical range for a phone and makes it especially well suited to subjects that are hard to approach, such as animals.
