PiTeam has introduced PiLY, a novel screenless fitness band with integrated voice recording and multilingual transcription capabilities, aiming to redefine wearable tech with a focus on uninterrupted health and productivity tracking.
PiTeam has unveiled PiLY, a screenless fitness band that also works as a voice recorder, aiming to reduce the constant interruptions that come with conventional wearables. According to the company’s description on its crowdfunding page and reporting by Computerra, the device is designed to track health and activity while also capturing meetings, lectures and quick voice notes from the wrist.
The band measures steps, heart rate, heart-rate variability, blood oxygen, sleep and stress, and PiTeam says it supports 180 sports and activities. For outdoor runs and cycling, it can use a paired phone’s GPS to map routes. The key distinction is the built-in recorder: a single button starts capture, with audio saved to 1GB of internal memory, which PiTeam says is enough for about 10 hours of recordings before transfer to a smartphone for cloud processing.
PiTeam says its companion app will transcribe recordings in more than 120 languages and can turn them into plain transcripts, structured notes, task lists or mind maps. The company also says the app will be available on both Android and iPhone at launch. Other specifications include a claimed battery life of up to two weeks, around one hour for a full charge, a 16g stainless-steel body and IP67 protection, which should withstand rain and splashes but not swimming.
The company is pitching PiLY as a subscription-free product. PiTeam says user data will not be stored or used to train its AI system, and that recordings are encrypted in transit. PiLY is now seeking funding on Kickstarter, where it is being offered for $99 against a planned retail price of $199. If the timetable holds, shipments are due to start in February 2027, although, as with any crowdfunded hardware, delivery remains dependent on the campaign’s success.
