Poco teases M8x 5G with bold design and budget specs for India

Poco hints at the upcoming M8x 5G in India, showcasing a vibrant design and mid-range features, with a launch expected on Flipkart and tentative specifications promising competitive pricing in the budget segment.

Poco has started teasing the M8x 5G in India, signalling another addition to its M-series line-up. The company has promoted the handset through Flipkart and social media, and the first official images show a green rear panel with a textured finish, a square camera island in gold and a dual-camera layout. The listing also confirms that the phone will be sold through Flipkart.

The design suggests Poco is leaning into a more decorative look for a budget 5G model, with a flat back, matching gold accents and horizontally placed branding near the lower rear. The power and volume keys are positioned on the right edge. According to the teaser, the device is being positioned around performance and appearance, although the company has not yet disclosed full specifications, pricing or a launch date.

Leaked details attributed to tipster Yogesh Brar point to a 6.9-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset is expected to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chip, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with expansion support also tipped. A 6,000mAh battery and 33W wired charging are said to be on board, while software is expected to be HyperOS 3.

If those specifications prove accurate, the M8x 5G would slot beneath Poco’s more expensive models and compete in India’s lower mid-range 5G segment. The same leak puts the price below Rs 20,000. That would be consistent with Poco’s recent pricing strategy: the Poco M8 5G, launched in India earlier this year, arrived with a 120Hz AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor and 45W charging, showing how quickly the series is evolving within the budget and value tiers.
