Smartphone giants and carriers are accelerating their preorder strategies ahead of Google’s Pixel 11 and Pixel Watch 5 launch on August 12, with exclusive discounts and trade-in incentives reshaping the retail race.

Google, Best Buy and major carriers are all surfacing early preorder offers on the next Pixel phones and the Pixel Watch 5, turning launch day into a discount search as much as a product reveal. According to reports ahead of the event, the new line-up is expected to include the Pixel 11 family, the Pixel Watch 5 and possibly a new Bluetooth tracker called Pixel Tag.
Google’s own store is leaning on bundles and trade-ins. For buyers of the Pixel 11 Pro, the company is offering either $250 off the Pixel Watch 5 or $200 in Google Store credit, but only when the phone is bought unlocked rather than through Google Fi, Verizon or AT&T. Google is also advertising trade-in credits of up to $600, with similar incentives extending to other Pixel 11 models and to the Watch 5, including two years of data on the LTE version.
Best Buy is positioning itself around gift cards rather than direct markdowns. The retailer is offering up to $350 in e-gift cards with unlocked Pixel phone preorders, and qualifying trade-ins can sharply cut the price of the Pixel 11. In one example, Best Buy says a Pixel 10 Pro Fold trade-in can bring the Pixel 11 Pro 256GB down to $99. For the Pixel Watch 5, however, its offer appears to be limited to trade-in value.
The carrier deals are more restrictive, but potentially more generous for customers willing to sign long contracts. T-Mobile is advertising a free Pixel 11 or Pixel 11 Pro with an eligible trade-in on a 36-month Experience Beyond plan, while a new line on the same plan can net the Pixel 11 Pro XL at no extra cost. T-Mobile is also offering the Pixel Watch 5 with $300 off in bill credits when a line is added on an eligible plan.
