Primebook launches the Primebook 3 Max in India, targeting students and budget-conscious users with a focus on software flexibility, Linux support, and AI-driven tools, priced from Rs. 35,990.
Primebook has introduced the Primebook 3 Max in India, positioning the laptop as a more capable third-generation model for students, developers and other budget-conscious users. The device starts at Rs. 35,990 and is scheduled to go on sale from around 1 October through Amazon, Flipkart and Primebook’s own website, with availability also planned at select retail chains including Bajaj Electronics, Sangeetha Mobiles and Pai International.
The hardware centres on a MediaTek Genio 720 chip paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 memory and 128GB of UFS storage. Primebook says the new model delivers up to 40% better performance than the previous generation, while storage can be expanded to 1TB through the microSD slot. The laptop uses a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare panel rated at up to 250 nits, and it is backed by a 60.3Wh battery that the company says can last as long as 12 hours.
Much of the product’s appeal comes from PrimeOS, which adds offline productivity tools, Linux app support and AI-driven features on top of the Android-based platform. PrimeOffice bundles PrimeDocs, PrimeSheets and PrimePresent, which Primebook says cover more than 90% of common office tasks, while Linux support extends to software such as VS Code, GIMP, LibreOffice, Firefox, Arduino IDE, DBeaver CE and Postman. PrimeAGNT, meanwhile, is aimed at system interactions rather than simple chatbot use, and PrimeSecurity and Task Manager are designed to monitor applications, resources and potentially harmful software.
The rest of the specification sheet includes a 5MP webcam, stereo speakers, dual microphones, a backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, a 36W USB-C charger and ports including USB-C, USB-A, a headphone jack and display output support. Primebook also says PrimeOffice will be extended to Primebook 2 and Primebook 3 Pro users. In a crowded entry-level laptop market, the device’s pitch is less about raw computing power than about software flexibility, although buyers who rely on Windows-only programmes will still need to check compatibility carefully.
