Realme prepares to launch its budget 5G phone, the Realme 16x, in India on August 12, offering a giant 7,000mAh battery, a 144Hz display, and a competitive feature set aimed at budget-conscious consumers seeking lengthy battery life and smooth performance.
Realme has confirmed that its next budget 5G phone, the Realme 16x, will go on sale in India on August 12, positioning the model as a low-cost device with unusually large battery capacity and a high refresh-rate screen. Notebookcheck reported that the company has already revealed several key specifications ahead of the launch, including a 7,000mAh battery, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip and a 50-megapixel main camera.
The phone will ship with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, although Realme has not yet said whether expandable storage will be supported. It will come in two finishes, Endurance Brown and Glory White. The company says the handset includes a 5,300 sq mm vapour chamber for cooling, which it describes as the largest in its segment.
Realme has not disclosed the panel size, but it has confirmed a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. That places the 16x in the same broad performance class as other recent Realme models built around the Dimensity 6300, such as the Realme 15x, which also used a 144Hz display and a 7,000mAh battery, according to launch details reported by Gizguide. The newer 16T 5G, launched in India this year, went further with an 8,000mAh battery, showing how aggressively Realme is pushing battery life in this part of its range.
The software package is based on Android 16, and Realme says buyers will get two major operating system upgrades plus three years of security patches. Pricing has not been announced yet, and the company says further specifications will be confirmed at the launch event.
