Realme launches the 16T, boasting an 8,000mAh Titan Battery with a seven-year health guarantee and rugged IP69 Pro protection, challenging industry standards for durability and longevity in mid-range smartphones.
Realme is drawing attention to the 16T by putting its battery and durability features front and centre, even as the handset has already been unveiled in some markets. The company says the phone uses an 8,000mAh Titan Battery and backs it with a seven-year battery health guarantee, aiming to preserve capacity over prolonged use. Realme also says the device is supported by a six-year performance guarantee, with AI-based power management intended to keep the handset responsive after years of daily charging and discharging.
The charging system is built around 45W SUPERVOOC, with bypass charging designed to reduce heat during plugged-in use and reverse charging for powering accessories or other phones. Realme says the battery is paired with software and hardware measures such as Titan AI Deep Power and Extended Use Care, both aimed at slowing battery degradation. In its official Indian product information, the company also claims the 16T 5G can deliver up to three days of continuous use.
Durability is another major selling point. Realme says the phone carries IP69 Pro protection and military-grade shock resistance, while other market listings describe additional ingress ratings including IP68 and IP69K. Those claims suggest a handset designed to withstand dust, splashes and high-pressure water exposure, alongside everyday knocks. Reports from India and Malaysia also point to a slim build for a large-battery phone, with the device powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chip and running Android 16 with realme UI 7.0.
The 16T’s wider specification set, as listed by realme and regional launch reports, includes a 6.8-inch 144Hz display and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 main camera, alongside a 16-megapixel front camera in some markets. Colour options cited so far include Starlight Green and Aurora Black, with pricing in Malaysia listed at RM1,399 and an Indian launch price reported at Rs 29,999 for the 6GB/128GB model. Realme is also using early-buy promotions to build interest, offering launch-window freebies and discounts for customers who reserve the handset ahead of its first sale dates.
