RedMagic announces the global release of its high-end Astra 2 Gaming Tablet on August 26, with exclusive early bird discounts, advanced display technology, and cooling system tailored for immersive gaming experiences.
REDMAGIC has confirmed that its Astra 2 Gaming Tablet will go on global sale on August 26, 2026, with Early Bird vouchers available from August 10 to August 25 and a 24-hour head start for buyers who secure one. The promotion also includes a $30 discount, an 80W charger and a limited-edition keychain, according to the company’s launch page.
The tablet is positioned as a high-end Android gaming device built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and REDMAGIC’s RedCore R4 gaming chip. REDMAGIC says the combination is designed to support 2K super-resolution, customisable in-game effects and tighter control over CPU, GPU, memory, cooling and touch response through its Energy Cube 3.0 system.
Its display is a 9.06-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,504 pixels. Notebookcheck reported that the screen supports refresh rates up to 185 Hz, with touch sampling that averages 300 Hz and peaks at 2,000 Hz. The tablet also carries an 8,300mAh dual-cell battery, 75W fast charging and dual USB-C ports, with REDMAGIC claiming the design can also handle two-way reverse charging.
On hardware details, the device has a metal frame, a transparent rear section and RGB lighting, while Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and an IP54 rating are meant to improve durability. REDMAGIC’s cooling system has also been updated to AquaCore Cooling System 2.0, which the company says uses liquid cooling components and large vapour chambers to reduce heat during prolonged gaming sessions. Pricing has varied across reports, with Notebookcheck citing a starting price of $749 for a 12GB/256GB model and $849 for 16GB/512GB, while 9to5Google reported earlier pricing of $699 and $799 respectively.
