Xiaomi’s performance-focused Redmi K90 Ultra can be bought for 2,353 yuan through a Tmall 88VIP promotion, combining vouchers with Taobao coins to cut 446 yuan from its launch price.
Xiaomi’s Redmi K90 Ultra, launched in China in June, is now being sold at a lower effective price through an 88VIP promotion on Tmall, according to IT Home. The site said the 16GB-plus-256GB model, which went on sale at 2,799 yuan, can be brought down to 2,353 yuan by combining a 300 yuan 88VIP home-appliance and digital voucher with 201 yuan of Taobao coins. IT Home also noted that some buyers may need to manually claim the voucher in the Taobao app, and that the coins can be borrowed if the account balance is too low.
The handset is positioned as a performance-focused model with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, a 165Hz refresh rate and a claimed peak brightness of 3,500 nits, according to Gizmochina, Gadgets 360 and FoneArena. Those reports say the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, and that Xiaomi has added an active cooling fan rated at 32dB alongside a 6,000mm² vapour chamber to help control heat.
Its battery and charging hardware are also unusually large for the segment. The same reports say the Redmi K90 Ultra uses an 8,550mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging, while GSMArena lists the device as measuring 162.9 x 77.9 x 8.2mm and weighing 227g. Xiaomi is also said to support direct power delivery during gaming, a feature aimed at reducing battery stress in sustained high-load use.
Beyond core performance, Xiaomi has pushed several premium touches. IT Home said the phone comes in Shadow Black, Space Silver and Sky Blue, with IP66, IP68 and IP69 protection, while the front and frame use a 3D-curved design with an aluminium CNC middle frame and anodised finish. The device also includes Bose-tuned stereo speakers, an X-axis vibration motor, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and gaming-oriented software and audio features, underlining Xiaomi’s attempt to sell the K90 Ultra as a compact flagship-style device rather than a pure value phone.
