Schenker’s XMG Neo 16 introduces first OLED display with 240Hz refresh rate

Schenker Technologies unveils the M26 version of the XMG Neo 16, featuring its inaugural OLED option alongside upgraded specs, signalling a disruptive leap in high-end gaming laptop displays.

Schenker Technologies has added an OLED option to the XMG Neo 16 for the first time, marking a notable display shift for the high-end gaming laptop. The new Intel-based M26 version replaces the earlier E25 generation and introduces a 16-inch 2,560 x 1,600 panel with 240Hz refresh, full DCI-P3 coverage and a quoted peak brightness of 500 nits in SDR and 1,000 nits in HDR. According to XMG, this is the first Neo model to offer OLED, following its earlier availability on the Fusion 16.

The standard screen is also being revised. XMG says the entry IPS panel now matches the wider colour gamut of the AMD-based Neo 16 A25, with a 300Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness. The company is also planning a Mini LED variant for later in the year, with Nvidia G-Sync and Advanced Optimus, although that configuration is not launching immediately.

At launch, the OLED and IPS versions support a MUX switch, Nvidia Optimus and variable refresh rate over the integrated graphics path. XMG says VRR operates from 60Hz to 240Hz on the OLED panel and from 100Hz to 300Hz on the IPS panel, while both displays can also be locked to 60Hz to save power. The notebook’s battery remains at 99.8Wh, keeping it just under the usual airline limit for passenger flights.

There is also a small processor update. The Core Ultra 7 275HX gives way to the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, part of Intel’s Arrow Lake refresh line, while the rest of the platform remains largely unchanged. XMG continues to support its Oasis external cooling accessory, and the machine can be configured with up to an RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, 128GB of DDR5-5600 memory and 16TB of storage. The base model starts at €3,199 with the OLED panel, according to XMG’s product pages.
