Tecno extends Pova Curve 2 5G rollout to Vietnam with a focus on endurance and slim design

Tecno launches the Pova Curve 2 5G in Vietnam, prioritising battery life and sleekness, with market-specific pricing and features alongside early promotional offers.

Tecno has brought the Pova Curve 2 5G to Vietnam, extending the handset’s reach beyond its India debut in February and sharpening its pitch around endurance and thinness. The phone goes on sale from August 8 through major retailers including CellphoneS, Thế Giới Di Động and FPT Shop, with launch promotions that include bundled earbuds, instalment plans and trade-in discounts. According to Tecno’s launch material, the device keeps the same core selling point seen at its earlier introduction: an 8,000mAh battery in a 7.42mm body weighing 195g.

The Vietnamese pricing is higher than in India and places the model closer to the upper end of the mid-range market. Tecno is offering three versions: 8GB and 128GB for 10,990,000 Vietnamese dong, 8GB and 256GB for 12,690,000 dong, and 12GB and 256GB for 13,990,000 dong. In India, the comparable entry model launched at ₹27,999, which underscores how the same hardware is being positioned differently across markets.

The hardware is built around a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Tecno pairs that screen with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7100 chip, LPDDR5x memory and UFS 2.2 storage. The company has also kept the focus on durability, adding Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, IP64 resistance and SGS Five-Star Drop Resistance certification. Colour options are Mystic Purple, Melting Silver and Storm Titanium.

Battery life remains the main differentiator. Tecno says the 8,000mAh cell can last up to three days under lab conditions and supports 45W charging, 10W reverse charging and Bypass Charging 2.0, which is designed to direct power away from the battery during gaming to limit heat and wear. The phone also ships with Android 16 and HiOS 16, plus features such as real-time call translation, AI-powered note taking, image tools and FreeLink 2.0, which allows Tecno devices to communicate without mobile service within a 1.5km range. Its camera system is modest by comparison, with a 50MP main rear sensor, a 2MP secondary lens and a 13MP front camera.
