Tecno has unveiled the CAMON Slim 5G, a groundbreaking smartphone that combines a 6.39mm chassis with a 6,000mAh battery, emphasising style, durability, and advanced AI capabilities tailored for busy professionals.
TECNO has introduced the CAMON Slim 5G as a handset built around an unusual proposition: a 6.39mm chassis paired with a 6,000mAh battery. According to the company’s launch material, the device is meant to combine slimness, endurance and a strong visual identity rather than forcing users to trade one for the other. The phone is being positioned for people who want a lightweight-feeling device without giving up a large display, long battery life or a more expressive industrial design.
The styling is central to that pitch. TECNO says the CAMON Slim 5G carries forward the swan-neck curve language used in its CAMON line, with finishes inspired by artists and art movements. The line-up includes Burgundy Red, Neo Mondrian, Matisse Black, Van Gogh Blue and Rebel Pink, with some variants using textured materials and others using effects such as photochromic colour change. In practical terms, the result is a device that TECNO is selling less as a plain utility object and more as a personal accessory with a distinct visual signature.
The imaging system is anchored by a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C main camera with a large 1/1.56-inch sensor, which TECNO says is intended to improve light capture for low-light photography. The phone also uses a closed-loop ball motor for autofocus, alongside a stabilisation package that combines optical image stabilisation, AI electric image stabilisation and AI shutter control. TECNO highlights a Super-Zoom FlashSnap mode for fleeting moments, with support for up to 2x telephoto snap shooting and shutter speeds as fast as 1/11236 second. For portraits, the camera app offers 24mm, 35mm and 50mm focal-length options, while TECNO Universal Tone is designed to render a broad range of skin tones more faithfully.
The company is also leaning heavily on AI features that it says are intended for everyday use rather than occasional experimentation. These include AI Snap Poster for making product images into promotional posters, AI Pet Together for combining separate photos of people and pets, and AI LightMaster 2.0 for reducing shadows, flare and reflections. Other functions target students and professionals, such as AI Recording Notes for converting lectures into structured notes and AI Class Schedule for turning photographed timetables into organised widgets. TECNO also says AI Healthy Eating can analyse food photos to estimate calories and nutrients, with many of these tools accessible from the zero screen.
Despite the thin profile, TECNO says the CAMON Slim 5G is built for rougher conditions than its dimensions might suggest. The handset carries IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 ratings, along with MIL-STD-810 certification, and supports underwater photography. It has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification, while wet-hand touch modes are meant to keep the screen responsive in rain, after exercise or inside a waterproof case. Under the hood, the phone uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300e chip and, according to TECNO, will receive five years of security updates and three major Android version upgrades, alongside TÜV SÜD certification for 60 months of fluidity. Several tech outlets, including PhoneArena and Gizchina, have reported matching hardware details, reinforcing the company’s specification sheet.
TECNO is also launching a companion accessory called the Mag Badge, a magnetic add-on with a built-in battery and 1.73-inch AMOLED display. The company says it can be used as a gallery display, a remote shutter and a selfie aid, broadening the phone’s photography-focused positioning. The launch is tied to the #MakeItLighter campaign, which TECNO says is aimed at Filipina professionals and women balancing work, family and personal ambitions. In that framing, the CAMON Slim 5G is presented not just as a thin smartphone, but as a device intended to fit into a busier, more varied daily routine.
