Tecno has listed the Pova 8 Pro on Flipkart ahead of its official launch in India, showcasing a unique rear LED display, gaming-oriented specifications, and competitive pricing for a flagship experience.
Tecno has put the Pova 8 Pro on Flipkart ahead of its India release, but buyers will still have to wait a few days before they can place an order. The company had said the phone would debut in India on 18 August, but sales are set to begin on 21 August, with Flipkart already hosting the product pages and notification option. Pricing starts at ₹50,000 for the 8GB/256GB model and rises to ₹55,000 for the 12GB/512GB version, with a ₹3,000 instant cashback offer and no-cost EMI for up to 18 months.
The Pova 8 Pro is positioned as a gaming-focused handset with a 6.78-inch OLED screen, 1208p-plus resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Tecno also includes an X-axis linear motor for haptics, a Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chip, a P1 Graphic Chip and a 5,000mm² vapour chamber for thermal management. The rear camera system combines a 50-megapixel main sensor based on Sony’s Lytia 700C with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
One of the phone’s more unusual additions is a circular dot-matrix rear display built from 177 LEDs. Tecno says it can show notifications, file-transfer progress and other preset animations across 49 scenarios, while remaining customisable. There is also a programmable side button that can trigger actions such as silent mode, the camera, the torch, recordings or Tecno’s AI assistant.
The handset ships with HiOS 16 based on Android 16 and Tecno says it will receive two Android version upgrades. It measures 7.4mm thick, weighs 189g and packs a 6,500mAh battery with 45W wired charging, rated to reach 50% in 28 minutes. Tecno also claims support for 2,000 charging cycles, roughly five years of use, alongside IP69K water resistance and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The company has separately shown a Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition, though that model is not on sale yet. In India, the launch continues Tecno’s wider Pova 8 push after the earlier Pova 8 5G, which arrived with an 8,000mAh battery and a lower price band.
