Thypoch completes Simera-C cine prime range with 100mm T1.9

The 100mm T1.9 becomes the longest lens in Thypoch’s full-frame Simera-C range, bringing compact cine controls and close-up capabilities to mirrorless and cinema-camera rigs.

Thypoch has completed its Simera-C full-frame cine prime range with the arrival of a 100mm T1.9 lens aimed at close-ups, reaction shots and other detail-led narrative work. The company says the new optic extends the series beyond its previous longest focal length of 75mm and is intended for compact mirrorless and cinema-camera rigs.

The lens is offered in Sony E and Leica M mounts and sits within a compact family built around coordinated cine controls for filmmakers moving between focal lengths. Thypoch has positioned the range for users who want a consistent handling profile across lenses, and the 100mm follows the same design language as the rest of the series. The company also notes that the lens is compatible with its positive-lock adapter system, which allows the Leica M-mount version to be used on selected Sony, Canon, Fujifilm, Lumix and DJI cameras as part of its “M TO ALL” strategy.

On the optical side, the Simera-C 100mm T1.9 uses 11 elements in eight groups, a 16-blade iris and a minimum focusing distance of 0.85 metres. Thypoch says the lens is tuned for pronounced subject separation, soft bokeh and smooth transitions into and out of focus, while also giving attention to chromatic aberration control. The horizontal field of view is 21.4 degrees on full-frame cameras.

The physical specifications keep the lens relatively small for its class. Thypoch says it has 210 degrees of focus rotation, 0.8MOD gearing on both focus and aperture rings, a 72mm front diameter and an M67×0.75 filter thread. Weight and length vary slightly by mount: the Sony E version measures 86.4mm and weighs 477g, while the Leica M version is 76.6mm long and weighs 451g.

The 100mm joins the completed Simera-C set of 16mm, 21mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm and now 100mm focal lengths. Thypoch says the 100mm shares a T1.9 maximum aperture with the 16mm lens, while the intermediate primes are rated at T1.5. The company plans to begin shipping in late October 2026, with suggested retail prices of US$879, or €799, for the Sony E mount and US$959, or €869, for the Leica M version.

Each lens will ship with front and rear caps, a shim pack for back-focus adjustment, a mount tool kit and a warranty card. Thypoch says orders can be placed through its own store, while authorised dealers will also carry the lens in different regions, including B&H Photo Video in the United States and CVP in Europe. Availability and delivery times may differ by retailer and market.

The launch lands alongside a broader promotional push from Thypoch and DZOFILM, which are running Black Friday offers from 20 October to 3 December 2026. Thypoch says its discounts reach 29%, with savings of up to US$849 on selected Simera-C, Simera, Ksana, Eureka and Voyager products. DZOFILM is marking its seventh anniversary with reductions of up to 38.89% and savings of up to US$4,660 on selected Arcana, Arles Zoom and Vespid kits.
