Ulefone Note 23 debuts as an ultra-affordable smartphone with a 90Hz display

Ulefone has launched the Note 23, an entry-level handset priced at just $84.99, featuring a 90Hz display, 5,000mAh battery, and Android 16 Go, targeting budget-conscious consumers seeking basic connectivity and multimedia capabilities.

The Ulefone Note 23 is a low-cost handset that Ulefone says it unveiled in July 2026, positioning it squarely in the entry-level segment. The company’s own product pages list a starting price of $84.99 and colours of Black, Blue and Orange, placing the phone among the cheapest models in its current Note range. According to Ulefone, the broader series also includes several more expensive devices, suggesting the Note 23 is intended as a basic everyday option rather than a performance-focused model.

At its core is a 6.56-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 540 x 1210 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Ulefone also describes the display as a 90Hz panel in its Note series listing, although third-party catalogues continue to refer to the Note 23 as a standard IPS LCD screen. The phone measures 165 x 76.5 x 8.8 mm and weighs 191.5g, making it a fairly large but still manageable budget device.

Inside, the Note 23 uses the Unisoc T7100 octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. Ulefone says storage can be expanded by microSD card up to 2TB. The phone runs Android 16 Go edition, a lightweight build designed for devices with modest hardware. This combination points to a handset aimed at calls, messaging, streaming and other lighter tasks, rather than demanding gaming or heavy multitasking.

The battery specification is a 5,000mAh unit with 10W wired charging, a familiar formula in the budget class where endurance matters more than charging speed. On the camera side, the rear module is an 8-megapixel wide sensor with LED flash, while the front camera is 5 megapixels. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, FM radio, USB Type-C 2.0 and OTG, with an accelerometer and proximity sensor also listed.
