Vivo has put a new Y31-series handset on its India store, but the naming and timing are not yet fully clear. The listing points to a Y31T 5G model built around endurance rather than premium hardware, with a 7,200mAh battery, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor and a 120Hz display. It also confirms that the phone is headed for India, although Vivo has not yet disclosed the launch date or official pricing. By contrast, other reports say Vivo has already introduced the Y31 5G in India at a starting price of ₹14,999, suggesting the company may be managing closely related models or staggered variants in the same family. According to The Tech Outlook and Mint, the already launched Y31 5G sits in the entry-level 5G segment.
The store listing describes a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,250 nits. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, built on a 4nm process, is intended to handle basic performance and 5G connectivity without pushing the phone into a higher price band. Vivo says the device will ship with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 and dual-SIM support, reinforcing its positioning as a practical everyday handset rather than a specification-led flagship alternative.
Battery life is the main selling point. Vivo pairs the 7,200mAh cell with 44W wired charging over USB Type-C, and the handset is listed at 8.39mm thick and about 219g. That puts it among the larger phones in its class, but still within the bounds of normal one-handed use for many buyers.
