Vivo has launched the V80 in India, offering a premium mid-range experience with a focus on display quality, long-lasting battery, and advanced imaging features, including co-developed Zeiss cameras and fast charging.
Vivo has added the V80 to its Indian V-series line-up, positioning it as a premium mid-range handset that leans heavily on display quality, battery endurance and imaging features. The phone goes on sale in India on 13 October, with Vivo selling it through its own online store and major retail channels. According to company information and reporting by technology outlets, the launch also comes with introductory benefits such as cashback or exchange incentives, plus bundled Google One storage and optional protection plans.
The headline specification is a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K-class resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. Vivo says the screen can reach a local peak brightness of 5,000 nits, with high-brightness mode rated at 1,800 nits. The device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform, built on a 4nm process, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X memory and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Vivo’s software package combines Android 17 with OriginOS 7.
The camera system is one of the V80’s main selling points. Vivo and Zeiss have co-developed the rear array, which includes a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 115-degree field of view. On the front, the phone uses a 50-megapixel Zeiss Group Selfie Camera with autofocus. That configuration places the V80 in a crowded upper mid-range segment, but it gives the device a more ambitious imaging specification than many rivals at this price point.
Battery life is another area where Vivo is clearly aiming to differentiate the handset. The V80 carries a 7,200mAh battery and supports 90W wired charging, a combination that should appeal to buyers prioritising long runtime and fast top-ups. The phone is also rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance, and it includes 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS and NFC. Vivo is offering the handset in Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black. Pricing in India starts at Rs 62,999 for the 8GB/128GB model, rising to Rs 69,999 for 8GB/256GB and Rs 79,999 for 8GB/512GB.
