Vivo X Fold6 arrives in Italy with ultra-high-resolution camera and innovative teleconverter

Vivo launches its flagship X Fold6 in Italy, featuring a 200 MP camera, a foldable design with dual LTPO displays, and advanced imaging accessories including a ZEISS teleconverter aimed at content creators and photography enthusiasts.

vivo has brought the X Fold6 to Italy, positioning the foldable as a camera-first device with a large battery, dual LTPO displays and premium imaging extras aimed at content creation. The company says the handset starts at €2,199 in Black and Blue, while a bundle with the photography kit is priced at €2,399 through selected channels. Retail promotions also reduce the effective price for some customers, including loyalty and pre-order incentives.

The main selling point is the imaging system. According to vivo’s product pages, the X Fold6 uses a 200 MP ZEISS main camera with a Samsung HPB sensor, ZEISS T* coating and CIPA 4.5-rated optical stabilisation. It is joined by a 50 MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera based on Sony’s LYT-602 sensor, offering 3x periscope zoom and ZEISS Hyper Zoom of up to 100x. A 50 MP ultra-wide camera completes the rear array, while vivo’s V3+ imaging chip handles processing, noise reduction and power efficiency.

The most unusual accessory is the ZEISS Gen 2 teleconverter, which extends the focal length to an equivalent 200 mm in multiple modes, including photo, portrait, landscape, snapshot, video, stage, time-lapse and pro. vivo says it is designed for distant subjects such as performers and sports scenes. The phone also supports Motion Portrait 2.0, Night Flash Portrait and a dedicated stage portrait mode. For video, the device records in 4K at 60fps with Dolby Vision, and the outer display can be used as a teleprompter when filming with the rear camera.

The foldable hardware is built around an 8.02-inch inner display and a 6.51-inch cover screen, both using 8T-LTPO technology with an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate. vivo says peak local brightness reaches 5,000 nits, with the panels able to dim to 1 nit for low-light use. Power comes from a 6,900 mAh BlueVolt battery with 80W wired charging, 40W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. Despite that capacity, the device remains relatively slim, with vivo quoting 4.4mm when unfolded for the Black version and 4.8mm for Blue, alongside IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance and IP5X dust protection.

Under the hood, the X Fold6 uses the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor, co-developed by vivo and MediaTek, paired with OriginOS 7 Fold. The software supports multitasking with up to four apps at once through Origin Workbench, and it includes tools for moving content between apps as well as connecting to external displays through desktop mode. The specification set places the device squarely in the upper tier of foldables, with the Italian launch now making the model available in one of Europe’s more competitive premium smartphone markets.
