Xiaomi has introduced its Mijia home-appliance brand to India, signalling a major push into connected household devices with future large appliances planned for 2026, aiming to embed itself deeply into consumers’ smart home ecosystems.
Xiaomi has formally brought its Mijia home-appliance brand to India, adding a fourth label to its local portfolio alongside Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco. The company made the announcement during its 12th anniversary celebrations in India, presenting Mijia as its dedicated nameplate for lifestyle and household products.
The move is more than a branding exercise. Xiaomi says Mijia will act as the group’s specialist arm for connected home devices, with future products sold as Mijia by Xiaomi and tied into its wider ecosystem. The company is positioning the label around HyperOS, its operating system for linking phones, tablets, televisions, wearables and home devices into a single control layer.
According to Gadgets 360, Xiaomi India is preparing a wider push into large appliances in the second half of 2026, with smart air conditioners and refrigerators among the planned launches. Those products are expected to use AI-based energy optimisation and HyperOS integration, suggesting Xiaomi wants the home to become a central pillar of its connected-device strategy rather than a side business.
The expansion fits a broader pattern. Xiaomi first outlined its “Human, Car, Home” strategy in 2023, and its India business has already built out the “human” side through smartphones, tablets, smart televisions and wearables. Industry reports also indicate that the company intends to broaden its line-up of air purifiers and other smart-living devices in India, extending a product family that has already been developed for other markets.
