Xiaomi introduces the Redmi 17 to Spain, boasting a remarkable 7,500 mAh battery that promises days of usage, alongside a 120Hz display, advanced camera features, and eye-catching RGB lighting at an accessible price.
Xiaomi has brought the Redmi 17 to Spain with a clear pitch: maximum battery life at a low price. The handset’s headline feature is a 7,500 mAh battery, a capacity that places it well beyond many rivals in the budget segment. Xiaomi says it can deliver up to 91 hours of music playback, 28 hours of video, 46 hours of calls and 12 hours of video recording, with the company describing the phone as one that lasts “days, not hours”.
That endurance is paired with 45W wired charging, which Xiaomi says can refill the battery in 96 minutes. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to act as a power source for accessories or another handset. The battery uses silicon-carbon cells, a design increasingly common in China but still less widespread in Europe, partly because of regulatory and engineering constraints around how such batteries are built into consumer devices.
Beyond stamina, Xiaomi has given the Redmi 17 a large 6.9-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 825 nits. The panel has TÜV Rheinland eye-comfort certification, while the rear camera setup is led by a 50-megapixel main sensor with portrait mode support. There is also an 8-megapixel front camera and support for dual video capture, a feature aimed at social and reaction-style clips.
The design includes a dynamic RGB light placed below the camera flash, which can signal notifications, charging status and camera use, as well as provide decorative lighting effects. Xiaomi is offering the phone in conventional black and deep blue finishes, alongside Lotus Purple and Oak Green, two colour options the company says are inspired by nature. Under the bonnet, the Redmi 17 uses a MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chip, 4GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, with HyperOS 3 installed from new. Xiaomi is selling the phone in Spain for €219.99 in 4GB/128GB form and €249.99 for the 256GB version.
