Leaked details suggest that Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will feature a substantial 9,210mAh battery and rapid 100W charging, setting a new benchmark for its range amidst an international launch expected soon.
Xiaomi is preparing a more ambitious version of its Redmi Note 17 line, with recent leaks pointing to a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max that would sit above the Pro models on battery life, charging speed and processing power. The timing is consistent with Xiaomi’s broader rollout: the company officially announced the Redmi Note 17 series for China on July 14, 2026, and has already shown the standard Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro in teaser images. Xiaomi is also expected to tailor international variants, which may differ from the China and India editions in key hardware details.
For markets outside China, the clearest sign of an imminent launch came in July, when Thailand’s NBTC authority certified the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. That points to an international release rather than a China-only model. Earlier reports suggest the global family may trade some battery capacity for a wider feature set, including an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera that was absent from some regional versions, plus a 16-megapixel front camera in place of an 8-megapixel sensor.
The Pro Max itself is now being described as the most fully equipped model in the range. Leaks have repeatedly pointed to a large AMOLED display, with recent reports settling on a 6.83-inch panel at 1,280 by 2,772 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The handset is also said to use Gorilla Glass Victus 2. In imaging, the latest claims point to a 32-megapixel front camera, alongside a 50-megapixel main rear sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
Battery life appears to be the headline feature. According to the leak cited by 25h.app, Xiaomi plans a 9,210mAh battery for the Pro Max, paired with 100W wired charging. That would put it ahead of the expected global Redmi Note 17 Pro, which is tipped to carry an 8,340mAh cell, and even above the Chinese Pro model’s 9,000mAh battery. It would also charge faster than the 67W support reported for the Pro variants.
There is still uncertainty over the final hardware. Some earlier leaks suggested a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chip, a 200-megapixel rear camera and a 10,000mAh battery, while a Geekbench listing linked a handset with the model number Xiaomi 2609FRA74G to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Android 16. The latest leak says the Pro Max could be offered with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, storage from 128GB to 512GB and a starting European price of about €600 for the 8GB plus 256GB version. None of those details has been officially confirmed yet.
