Xiaomi’s 17 has emerged as a compact flagship aimed at buyers who want top-end performance without the bulk of a large-screen phone. La Razón reported that the handset is now selling for €799.99 in Spain through Amazon and Xiaomi’s own store, down from an original €1,099.99 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage version. That puts the discount at €300 on a device positioned as one of the company’s most fully loaded models.
The appeal of the Xiaomi 17 lies partly in its size. The handset has a 6.3-inch display, measures 8mm thick and weighs 191g, making it easier to use one-handed than many rival premium phones. It also carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Retail listings from PCDIGA and LDLC broadly match those specifications, while T3’s review describes the device as a compact flagship launched globally in February 2026.
Despite its smaller frame, the phone is not short on display quality. According to the retailer listings, it uses an LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3,500 nits, with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. The screen resolution is listed at 2,656 x 1,220 pixels, a setup that should give the phone the kind of sharpness and smoothness expected at the top of the market.

Photography is another major selling point. Xiaomi has worked with Leica on a triple 50-megapixel rear camera system, including a main sensor, a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and an ultra-wide camera. The front camera is also 50 megapixels and includes autofocus. The aim is clearly to offer a versatile imaging package in a phone that remains easy to carry.
Battery life appears to be a standout feature too. The Xiaomi 17 packs a 6,330mAh battery, which is unusually large for a compact smartphone, and supports 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 22.5W reverse charging. In practical terms, that should mean a full day of heavy use and, in lighter use, potentially more. For buyers wanting a pocketable premium phone with flagship hardware, the current price cut makes it a more compelling proposition.
