Bluetti’s Elite 300 surpasses Anker’s Solix C2000 in capacity and solar compatibility, yet Anker’s expandable design and lighter weight keep it a practical choice for ongoing scalability and portability, as experts highlight evolving features in the mid-sized battery market.
Anker and Bluetti both sit near the top of the portable power station market, but the balance between them depends on what matters most: runtime, weight, charging flexibility or expandability. In Popular Mechanics’ comparison, the Anker Solix C2000 and Bluetti Elite 300 are pitched at the same broad use case: mid-sized battery stations for home backup, camping and emergency power, with enough output to run several household devices at once. Both use LiFePO4 batteries, a chemistry valued for durability and long cycle life. According to the manufacturers, the Anker delivers 2,048Wh of capacity and 2,400W of continuous output, while the Bluetti offers 3,014.4Wh at the same 2,400W output.
The clearest advantage belongs to Bluetti on sheer stored energy. More capacity means longer running time, and Popular Mechanics’ testing found that the Elite 300 kept a refrigerator operating for 29.5 hours, compared with 18 hours from the Anker under similar conditions. That gap can matter during outages or on longer trips. Bluetti’s specification sheet also says the Elite 300 can deliver a 4,800W surge, while Anker lists a 4,000W surge on the C2000. The trade-off is weight: Anker lists the C2000 at 18.9kg, while Bluetti puts the Elite 300 at about 26.3kg, making the Bluetti materially harder to move.
Solar charging is another area where Bluetti has the stronger headline figure. Bluetti says the Elite 300 accepts up to 1,200W of solar input, compared with Anker’s 800W limit. In practice, Popular Mechanics notes that many single-panel setups fall well below those ceilings, but users building larger arrays will find the Bluetti more accommodating. For vehicle charging, both brands offer alternator chargers that can significantly cut recharge time versus a standard 12V socket, and Popular Mechanics said Anker’s solution can refill the C2000 in about an hour under the right conditions.
Anker’s main advantage is expandability. The C2000 can be paired with an additional battery to double total capacity to 4,096Wh, according to Popular Mechanics and Anker’s product details. Bluetti’s Elite 300 does not support battery expansion, which limits long-term scaling even though its base capacity is already higher. Anker also offers five AC outlets, three USB-C ports and a 12V DC outlet, while Bluetti lists two AC outlets, two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports and a 12V/30A outlet that may appeal to RV owners and overlanders.
The software experience may also influence the decision. Popular Mechanics found Bluetti’s app more capable, with deeper control over charging rates, eco modes and UPS settings. Anker’s app covers some of the same ground, but with fewer adjustments. On balance, Bluetti looks like the better choice for users who want the most runtime and a stronger app, while Anker remains the more practical option for those who value lighter weight, outlet count and future expansion.
