TechRadar’s latest rankings place LG’s C6 OLED as the overall winner in 2026, highlighting its strong contrast, refined colour, and gaming capabilities amidst a competitive market of OLED and Mini-LED sets.
TechRadar’s latest television rankings place LG’s C6 at the top overall, with the publication saying it is the most balanced choice across everyday viewing, gaming, sport and film. The assessment reflects a crowded 2026 market in which OLED and Mini-LED sets often look similar on paper, yet differ sharply in real-world performance.
According to TechRadar, the C6 stands out because it combines strong contrast, refined colour and a new Alpha 11 AI Gen 3 processor with a broad gaming feature set. Reviewers also highlighted support for 4K at 165Hz, an intuitive smart TV platform and improved brightness over the C5. RTINGS and StereoNET reach similar conclusions, describing it as a well-rounded OLED with mature tuning and strong gaming credentials.
The set is not without trade-offs. TechRadar noted that its glossy screen can reflect light aggressively in bright rooms, which makes daytime viewing less comfortable. The review also mentioned occasional picture artefacts, including banding, and RTINGS said the model lacks HDR10+ support and DTS audio passthrough. As with many modern televisions, the built-in speakers are adequate rather than exceptional.
For rooms with strong ambient light, TechRadar named Samsung’s S99H as the best OLED alternative. The 4K QD-OLED is available in sizes from 55 to 83 inches and is praised for colour performance and anti-glare treatment. Its main drawbacks are price, a divisive silver finish and the absence of Dolby Vision, which remains an important format for many streaming services.
Budget-conscious buyers were steered towards Roku Plus, a QLED model that supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+. TechRadar said it offers rich image quality and a useful smart TV package, though it cannot match pricier sets for peak brightness or gaming features. For buyers wanting to spend less than $1,000, Hisense U8QG was singled out for its brightness, anti-reflection coating and three HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K/165Hz support.
Other category winners reflect more specific needs. LG C5 was named the best option under $1,500, but TechRadar said owners of the C4 would see only a modest upgrade. Samsung’s QN90F was selected as the best television for sport, thanks to its Neo QLED Mini-LED panel and glare-free coating. TCL’s QM8L was identified as the best large-screen choice, with more than 2,000 local dimming zones and impressive brightness, although its smart TV software was described as less capable than rivals.
