Google’s Pixel 11 introduces subtle yet impactful enhancements over its predecessor, boasting a larger battery, improved camera system, and faster wireless charging, positioning it as a more practical choice despite modest design shifts compared to Samsung’s Galaxy S26.
Google’s Pixel 11 and Samsung’s Galaxy S26 arrive in a year shaped more by restraint than by ambition, with both phones offering only modest changes over their predecessors. Yet the comparison still matters. According to Android Authority’s Joe Maring, the Pixel 11 has the clearer advantage on battery life, charging, cameras and software support, while Samsung continues to lean on a more feature-rich Android experience. PhoneArena’s spec comparison broadly supports that view, pointing to the Pixel 11’s larger 4,840mAh battery against the Galaxy S26’s 4,300mAh cell.
On endurance alone, Google appears to have the stronger hand. The larger battery in the Pixel 11 should give it more headroom for gaming, navigation and camera use, especially as the Galaxy S26 trades capacity for a thinner, lighter body. MobileInto’s comparison also lists both phones with 6.3-inch displays, which makes the Pixel’s larger battery even more notable in practical terms. In a year when many premium phones are being pushed towards slimmer designs, that extra capacity may matter more than ever.
Charging is another area where Google has moved ahead. Android Authority says the Pixel 11 keeps built-in Qi2 magnets and adds Qi 2.2 support with up to 25W wireless charging, while the Galaxy S26 remains Qi2 Ready and still needs a compatible case for magnetic accessories. Android Central’s hardware comparison also says the Pixel 11 is expected to use Tensor G6, built on TSMC’s 2nm process, while Samsung’s phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. The difference does not guarantee a performance win for Google, but it does suggest the company is trying to address long-running concerns about heat and efficiency.
Camera changes also tilt the decision towards the Pixel. Android Authority says Google has upgraded the main sensor, expanded zoom to 30x and kept a stronger 5x optical telephoto, while Samsung has held the Galaxy S26’s camera hardware at the same level as the previous generation despite a higher price. That matters because Samsung has increasingly relied on software polish rather than fresh imaging hardware, while Google is still making meaningful gains in the parts of the camera system most users notice.
The software divide remains just as important. Google still gets new Android releases and Feature Drops to Pixel devices first, which is one of the clearest reasons to choose a Pixel if you want the latest platform features quickly. Samsung has been improving its update cadence, but it has not caught Google. At the same time, Android Central reports that Samsung is still trying to close the software gap in other ways, including a Screenshot Analyzer feature for the Galaxy S26, while TechRadar says code in Google’s Phone app points to possible Scam Detection support on Samsung’s latest phones. Even so, Android Authority’s view is that the Pixel 11 has the more distinctive design and the cleaner overall package, while the Galaxy S26 remains the better pick for users who want more features in One UI.
