Samsung, Oppo, and Vivo showcase contrasting approaches to India’s premium smartphone segment, balancing innovation, pricing, and longevity amid rising competition and consumer expectations.
India’s premium smartphone market remains tightly contested, with manufacturers balancing price, battery life, camera hardware and long software support to justify increasingly high asking prices. A comparison of the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE, Oppo Find X9s and Vivo V70 Elite shows three very different approaches: Samsung is leaning on long-term support and a familiar feature set, Oppo is pushing the strongest overall specification sheet, and Vivo is aiming for a lower entry price with a large battery and faster charging.
According to Gadgets 360, the Galaxy S26 FE is priced at ₹79,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model, while the Oppo Find X9s starts at ₹84,999 for a 12GB RAM and 256GB version and rises to ₹94,999 for the 512GB model. Vivo’s V70 Elite undercuts both at ₹66,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB variant, with a 12GB RAM and 256GB option at ₹71,999 and a 512GB model priced at ₹1,05,999. Samsung offers Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio finishes; Oppo’s colours are Sunset Orange, Lavender Sky and Midnight Grey; Vivo ships in Authentic Black and Passion Red.
On paper, Oppo has the most complete display and software package. Gadgets 360 reports that the Find X9s uses a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,600 nits of peak brightness and Dolby Vision support, paired with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. Vivo’s V70 Elite also uses a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, but it goes higher on brightness at 5,000 nits and adds HDR10+ certification. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 FE is less aggressive on display specifications, with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,900 nits of high-brightness output and HDR10+ support, though it stands out with One UI 9 based on Android 17 and Samsung’s promise of seven years of operating system and security updates. Oppo says it will deliver five years of OS updates and six years of security maintenance releases, while Vivo offers four years of OS updates and six years of security support.
Performance and battery life draw clearer lines between the three phones. Samsung’s model uses the 3nm Exynos 2500, 8GB of LPDDR5X memory and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, backed by a 4,900mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Oppo pairs the 3nm Dimensity 9500s with 12GB of LPDDR5X memory, up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage and a 7,025mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 80W wired charging. Vivo’s V70 Elite uses the 4nm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X memory and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, alongside a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery and 90W wired charging. In practical terms, Oppo appears strongest on battery endurance, while Vivo has the fastest wired charging of the trio.
Camera hardware follows the same pattern of different priorities. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 FE combines a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel 3x telephoto lens and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, with a 12-megapixel front camera. Oppo uses a more consistent triple-50-megapixel rear setup, including the main sensor, a 3x telephoto unit and a 120-degree ultrawide camera, plus a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Vivo’s V70 Elite also keeps a 50-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel 3x telephoto lens, but its ultrawide camera is an 8-megapixel unit with a 115-degree field of view. The phones also differ in size and weight: Samsung is 161.6 x 76.9 x 7.4mm and 193g, Oppo is 157 x 73.9 x 8mm and 202g, and Vivo is the lightest at 187g. Samsung’s own launch coverage and sale announcement reinforce its pitch as a long-life, software-first option, while the broader comparison suggests Oppo offers the most rounded hardware and Vivo the most aggressive charging at the lowest starting price.
