Motorola’s mid-range Moto G67 impresses with its polished design, responsive AMOLED screen and capable everyday performance, but makes compromises on processing power, camera quality, battery capacity and software support.
CHIP says it subjects smartphones to a broad laboratory assessment before placing them in its rankings, measuring performance, battery life, screen quality, camera output and equipment, including app support and the manufacturer’s update pledge. The outlet adds that phones which no longer receive security updates cannot score better than “poor” on features, and that subjective checks, such as build quality, are folded into the final judgement alongside the technical results.
In that context, the Motorola Moto G67 emerges as a mixed but interesting mid-range entrant. Alza’s preview says Motorola has improved the display and design compared with the Moto G64, giving the newer model a more polished appearance. Yet it also points to compromises in core hardware, with a less capable processor and a smaller battery than before, which may blunt the gains elsewhere.
Notebookcheck’s review of the Moto G67 paints a similar picture of strengths and trade-offs. The phone is described as bright and responsive, with an AMOLED panel that stands out in everyday use and a fingerprint sensor that reacts quickly. At the same time, the publication says the camera remains only modest for the class, and that software support is limited when set against tougher European expectations.
That software question matters for buyers weighing longevity as much as raw speed. Notebookcheck says updates are scheduled until 2030, which is not especially generous by current EU standards, while CHIP’s own framework makes the update commitment a central part of the handset’s equipment score. Taken together, the Moto G67 looks best suited to shoppers who prioritise screen quality and sensible everyday performance over long-term support, camera ambition or the strongest possible battery life.
