The Redmi Watch 6 introduces a sharper AMOLED display, improved software, and design refinements, marking a significant yet measured upgrade from the Redmi Watch 5 and boosting outdoor visibility and usability.
Xiaomi’s Redmi Watch 6 arrives as an incremental but meaningful step up from the Redmi Watch 5, with the biggest gains concentrated in the display, controls and software. Comparisons published by Smartwatch Specifications and Gadgets360 show that both models use a 2.07-inch AMOLED panel, but the newer watch pushes resolution, brightness and responsiveness further, making it easier to read in strong light and giving it a more premium feel.
The most obvious change is the screen. The Redmi Watch 6 is listed with a 432×514 resolution, 2,000 nits peak brightness and a 60Hz refresh rate, while the Watch 5 is described as topping out at 1,500 nits with a lower 410×502 resolution. That should translate into sharper text and better outdoor visibility on the newer model. Gizmochina reported that the watch also keeps an always-on display mode and comes in Misty Blue, Elegant Black and Moonlight Silver.
There are also design refinements. According to Gizmochina and the comparison pages, the Redmi Watch 6 moves to a dual-button layout with a repositioned stainless-steel crown and an extra side button for quicker access to functions. Several reviewers say the case is slimmer and lighter than before, which may matter more in daily use than raw specifications do. XiaomiWelt and other comparison sites also point to a more polished overall look.
Software and connectivity complete the upgrade. The Watch 6 is said to run HyperOS 3 or Xiaomi’s Surge OS 3, depending on the market description, and to improve integration with Xiaomi devices. It also adds Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and, in some listings, smart home controls. Battery capacity is quoted at 550mAh, with some reports claiming up to 24 days of use, while the launch price in China was put at 599 yuan, or about $84. Taken together, the newer watch looks less like a redesign and more like a measured refinement of the Redmi line.
