Amazon is offering two versions of Ring Intercom in Italy, giving buyers a choice between a basic audio model and a version with video. According to the product listings, the Ring Intercom Audio costs €39.99, while Ring Intercom Video is priced at €59.99, a €20 gap that reflects the extra visual functions in the higher-tier model.
Both devices are designed to add smart features to an existing apartment intercom without changing the building’s wiring. Amazon says they share the same compact form factor, use a removable rechargeable lithium battery, and connect over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The product data also lists compatibility with Alexa and remote opening through the Ring app, alongside virtual guest keys for trusted users.
The main difference is in how the user receives and checks a call. The audio version supports two-way voice communication only, making it suitable for systems without a camera and for residents who mainly want remote answering and door release. The video version adds live video streaming, allowing users to see who is calling from a smartphone or compatible Echo Show display before deciding whether to unlock the entrance.
Ring has also added software features to both models, including call history for up to 180 days, voicemail-style messages and automatic replies.
